The old Creator Revenue Sharing program has been retired
X stopped accepting new enrollments into Creator Revenue Sharing on August 7, 2026 and retired that program in September. The current program is Original Content Rewards, which is designed around original, high-quality content and qualified impressions.
Headline eligibility requirements
X's published requirements include several account, location and content rules. The three headline numerical/account checks most creators focus on are:
| Requirement | Published rule |
|---|---|
| Premium | Active X Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription. |
| Verified followers | At least 500 verified followers. |
| 90-day impressions | At least 500,000 Home Timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days. X says impressions on replies are excluded. |
X also requires creators to be 18+, live in a supported country, keep the account in good standing, use an eligible Personal or Business account and actively post original content. Meeting the thresholds does not guarantee admission; X reviews applications.
What counts as original content?
X describes original content as material you personally create—written, filmed, designed or produced—that reflects your own voice, perspective or expertise. Commentary can qualify when it genuinely adds analysis, context or perspective.
Copied posts, minimally modified content, low-value aggregation and cross-platform reposts from other creators are not treated the same way. If you are building a news/reaction account, the safest direction is to add real analysis, framing or context rather than simply repackaging somebody else's post.
What counts as a qualified impression?
For payouts, X says qualified impressions are unique impressions from Premium users on the Home Timeline with at least 50% of the post visible. Duplicate impressions from the same account on the same post, promoted/artificial traffic and fraudulent impressions are excluded.
Why the eligibility metric and payout metric should not be mixed
This is where many calculators get sloppy. The published eligibility threshold refers to verified-user Home Timeline impressions over 90 days, while payouts are described in terms of qualified impressions. They are related but should not be presented as the exact same metric.
What to do before applying
- Keep Premium active.
- Grow verified followers above 500 with margin.
- Track your 90-day verified-user Home Timeline impressions.
- Post original material consistently.
- Avoid artificial engagement or manipulative growth tactics.
- Use payout estimates as planning tools, not guaranteed income.
